Job Purpose

The Network Cable Technician will participate in the infrastructure of all telecom networks, such as Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WANs), and Cable TV (CATV).

The Network Cable Technician will install, troubleshoot, and maintain video and data cables and copper and fiber cabling infrastructure as per the standards of the client’s needs.

They will also assist in the designing, creating, and implementing standards and specifications of the cabling project.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service to all clients
  • Assembles and arranges material and equipment
  • Explains and verifies service orders, drawings and specifications
  • Installs various low voltage cables and fiber (no electrical required)
  • Mounts telecom equipment while adhering to best industry practices and manufacturer requirements
  • Aids in arranging routers, hubs
  • Installs support structures, including racks, ladders and j-hooks
  • Switches using data provided by all teams within organizations
  • Installs access control systems and surveillance cameras
  • Selects and verifies cable pathways
  • Conducts site surveys for clients
  • Manages and maintains exact inventory of parts, tools, and supplies
  • Installs closet hardware, including connecting blocks, fiber enclosures, racks, backboards, and patch panels
  • Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with clients

Qualifications

  • Employee must be able to execute strong customer service skills
  • Experience in designing and installing networks to meet clients’ requirements and comply with industry standards
  • Possess solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • One to three years of recognized success in Cable system and installation of copper and fiber optic cables
  • Valid Driver's License
