REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION LEVEL:

Two years of post high school education or higher, or be able to pass a standardized test approved by the state of South Dakota, for designated Education Assistant positions.

EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

One to three years

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires constant hand-eye and mind-eye coordination, hearing; intermittent grasping, keyboarding, speaking, talking, typing and writing. Frequent sitting, standing and walking are also required. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Experience with behavior management. Demonstrated skill using computer

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

1. Follows and carries out behavioral management plans.
2. Maintain the confidentiality of students and their families.
3. Reinforces instruction provided by the classroom teacher.
4. Refers problems to professional staff.
5. Maintains consistent discipline.
6. Maintains student progress.
7. Supervises student activities in the absence of the teacher.
8. Coordinates student transportation.
9. Corrects student assignments.
10. Accompanies students into the community.
11. May be requested by administration to transport students using personal vehicle.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

PAY INFORMATION

Level G, starting at $17.85/hour

Pay Day: Last working day of each month.

HOURS & FTE

Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with a 30-minute unpaid break.

1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, 9 months
